Professional Experience
J.D. from Rome University La Sapienza. He joined Rome Bar Association on 1982 and immediately started practicing within his family law firm in Rome that, since late 60s, had established strong professional collaborations with London firms providing worldwide legal assistance to marine and aviation insurers. In such a professional context, Mr. Nobiloni gained a significant expertise in the field of legal protection of interests of air carriers and shipowners respecting contracts of carriage and carriers’ liability limitation, with a deep knowledge of international and European provisions of law governing said matters.
Since 2002 Mr. Nobiloni is registered with the Special Register of Lawyers admitted to practice before the Supreme Court and other Italian higher courts.
In the field of navigation, he also assists clients respecting shipbuilding contracts for commercial and pleasure vessels, M.O.A. for vessels sales/purchases, charterparties, precautionary measures and enforcement of judgments on vessels and aircrafts, maritime and aircraft mortgages, compensations for salvages at sea.
Since 80s Mr. Nobiloni is Rome correspondent of two major P&I Clubs (Protection and Indemnity Associations) and is a member of the European Air Law Association (EALA).
Additionally, Mr. Nobiloni assists Italian and foreign clients in contracts for international sale of goods and commodities, international contracts in general, arbitrations, acknowledgment and enforcement of foreign arbitration awards.
Mr. Nobiloni has a deep knowledge of procedural civil law acquired along decades of continued practice before any level of jurisdiction, thus assuring proper judicial assistance to his clients.

  • Legal assistance to insurers and judicial defense of insured air carriers respecting claims from relatives of Italian deceased passengers arising from several major air accidents, according to international provisions of law governing the matter (Warsaw Convention 1929 and Montreal Convention 1999);
  • Representing a leading international air courier in court claim against Genoa Airport for recovery of significant damages to aircraft in connection with a “bird strike” during take off;
  • Legal assistance to Dutch manufacturer for aircrafts lease contract to Italian company as lessee;
  • Legal assistance to Italian company for aircraft mechanical machining (part to the Finmeccanica group) in connection with payment of contract consideration for works of conversion from passengers into cargo configuration of a DC10 aircraft;
  • Judicial defense of Bankruptcy procedure of shipowner company in court case concerning annulment of vessel sale contract and subsequent settlement agreement;
  • Judicial defense to Bankruptcy procedure of shipowner company in both first instance and appeal respecting claim for environment damages arising from ship wreckage;
  • Judicial defense of national shipping company of the Republic of Georgia before Italian court for annulment of arrest of coal ship and deposition before the Multimember Court of Piraeus in the proceedings for the merits of the case as expert of Italian law appointed by the defendant;
  • Legal assistance and continuing assistance to Italian shipowner for conclusion and execution of contract for construction of a major pleasure vessel;
  • Judicial defense of American cruising company in court claim for payment of salvage compensation;
  • Assistance to leading American manufacturer of marine engines for repossession of large pleasure vessel lying in Italy based on London High Court of Justice judgment.

Education
Law Degree from Rome University La Sapienza with final thesis in Private Comparative Law, concerning “mistake and fraud as grounds for annulment of contracts under civil and common law legal systems”.
