Practice Areas
Francesco assists domestic and international clients in complex projects and transactions in the port sector, with a focus on the development of alternative fuels for the maritime sector and infrastructure works, including energy driven projects. He handles administrative procedures for the issuance of authorizations for port operations and state concessions, also in the context of project financing projects.
In the real estate sector, he provides legal assistance with regard to urban planning, administrative matters and contracts, including sales and procurement. Amongst recent significant transactions, he advised Discovery Land Company in connection with the development project for the Tenuta di Castelfalfi.
With regard to renewables, Francesco has assisted domestic and international clients in administrative procedures for the issuance of authorizations for the installation of new plants, in particular photovoltaic plants. In the environmental and waste management sector, he provided assistance in corporate transactions to Ecosistem, a large domestic player operating in the transport, waste management, and waste recovery sector, now owned by the Suez group.
In the domestic and international arbitration domain, Francesco represents clients in administered arbitration (ICC, Milan Chamber of Arbitration Rules), and in a wide range of industry sectors including construction, infrastructure and energy.
Prior Experience
Before joining Bridgelaw, Francesco Maria di Majo was President of the Port System Authority of the Central-Northern Tyrrhenian Sea (encompassing the ports of Civitavecchia, Fiumicino, and Gaeta). In this role, he initiated several port infrastructure projects, promoting participation of the Authority in European Union public tenders and EIB financing.
Previously, he worked with Watson, Farley & Williams and served as a diplomat at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
